Culture Business Conference Sydney 2024

Nothing better than open and generous peer-to-peer discussions. And there were so many of those over the last two days at the Culture Business Conference at Luna Park Sydney on Cammeraygal lands. It is, of course, no surprise that the experience of fundraising has very similar challenges worldwide. But there were many great success stories shared from a diverse range of organisations. And cross-sector lessons are some of my favourite things. Topics ranged from ethics and organisational values, issues and stakeholder management, data and impact communications, giving days and the philanthopic pipeline. It was a particular pleasure to hear from international speakers with a rich depth of experience to offer and from organisations at the vanguard of cultural and institutional change. And what a privilege to talk with the likes of Marijke Smallegange of the Rijksmuseum, Yasmine Mingay of the Canadian Museum of History, Jonathan Holloway, Ngozia Hunter of Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Cat Burton of the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, Jonathan Harper of the Paraorchestra, and Tirtha Giri of Communicating the Arts. And what a pleasure to connect and reconnect with so many brilliant cultural leaders and arts industry professionals from across Australia. Vanessa Lloyd, Jessica Robinson, Michelle Tabet GAICD, Janine Collins and Monica Davidson.
